Designing WorkLife: A Financial Wellness Platform for Employees
In 2021, I helped conceptualize and design WorkLife by DailyPay, a newsletter and blog built to support the financial health of employees at partner companies. Our goal was to create engaging, accessible financial content that aligned with employees' needs, promoted good money habits, and added value for our partners by reinforcing their employee wellness initiatives. WorkLife wasn’t just content—it was a strategic product designed to boost financial literacy and help employees feel empowered in managing their earnings.
Many employees faced challenges with managing their finances, and the lack of accessible financial education left them feeling unprepared. We discovered that:

The Process
We began by conducting user research and testing to validate interest in financial content. Through surveys and interviews with employees and HR teams, we identified key insights:
Employees wanted bite-sized financial tips delivered through newsletters and mobile-friendly emails.
Many preferred interactive elements—such as quizzes and calculators—to make learning more engaging.
Consistency was important: Employees responded best to content delivered on a regular cadence, such as weekly or bi-weekly newsletters.
Armed with these insights, we designed WorkLife as a multi-channel content platform consisting of:
A newsletter powered by AMP technology to deliver interactive content directly to employees’ inboxes.
A blog serving as a content hub, where employees could dive deeper into topics like saving, budgeting, and maximizing their DailyPay benefits.
Interactive tools embedded in emails and articles—such as quick polls and quizzes—to keep employees engaged.
This dual approach ensured employees could engage with quick, actionable tips via the newsletter, while the blog offered long-form resources for those looking for deeper insights.
